Hossein Roushankar studied film design with a focus on film directing and dramaturgy in the film class of documentary filmmaker Manfred Vosz at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. After completing his studies, he returned to his hometown of Bushehr, Iran, where he became a film professor and trained a new generation of filmmakers. There, in addition to his academic work, he also contributed to various film projects for television and cinema as a dramaturge and director.

In April 2023, he launched the YouTube channel Moodi Foodi Berlin together with his former fellow student Olaf Saumer, aiming to channel their many years of experience into entertaining, exciting, and informative street-food documentaries and to inspire a global audience for the craft.
